Does the fact that the "whistleblower" is not a helpless underling but a well-connected CIA officer (with access to the White House) change the calculus here?https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1177282077693218817?s=20 …

Breaking News: The whistle-blower is said to be a CIA officer who was assigned to work at the White House. His complaint suggests he is a trained analyst. https://nyti.ms/2loU4p0

Yes. He probably went to House Dems early on and they told him to write it up and file the complaint. All a game.

Giuliani owned it all on live TV. It happened. Heck, Trump owned it all, and he and his team are trying to say this is normal. It's not. It's criminal.

i imagine i will regret responding to the crazy-brigade, but he wasn't spying on the president. he was doing his job and witnessed certain crimes. that's why we have whistle-blower laws. the CIA's mandate to operate outside of the united states has exactly zero bearing here.

I always trust CIA operatives because spies never lie. The people on television told me so, and who in corporate run media has ever been mendacious? What next? Will people claim that career politicians lie? /s

The calculus was changed by the NYT outing him. The 3 reporters who did this should be fired, and if Baquet approved the article, he should go too.
