It needs to be emphasized that Biden is continuing to distort his Iraq War record *today.* For a lot of people, 2002 is receding from memory. How can anyone trust that he "learned his lesson" from that period if he won't tell the truth now, in 2019?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jO1zb8ybWTg …

The reason this matters now is not strictly because of the 2002 vote, although that itself should be disqualifying. But in addition, Biden's failure to honestly recount what happened in that period casts doubt on whether he'll honestly portray future "threats" as president

So great is their hatred for Trump that plenty of Dems would excuse Biden, not only because they don't care but because many of them changed their tune and now view nation building/perpetual war in the middle east positively so long as Trump is (at least outwardly) against it

Which I guess highlights the shallowness of their political positions in the first place, not to mention the cancerous "team player" mentality in US politics today which has poisoned our discourse and made finding people with actual solidly held beliefs hard to find.

Always ignored in all analysis of Sadamm Hussein is that he ignored over a dozen UN resolutions due to his resistance to allow inspections to ensure he didn’t have weapons of mass destruction. It’s not a defense of actions toward Iraq but it should be part of the critique.
