...no, promising to institute wealth-redistribution programs when in power is not analogous to a *candidate* offering to issue cash payments while *seeking* elective office

Yang knew what he was proposing was likely not legal. He just wanted to get that out there to influence people. No money will ever be paid in the way he described it last night.
-
I hope you sign up and win because UBI can work and help so many people in this country. Other candidates are funneling money into tv ads and other nonsense. Yang is letting Americans , even those who may not be on board w/ him, be autonomous with their money

For ten people who didn't even had to vote the candidate? Every other politicians should test their policies IRL too. Platitudes don't solve single thing.

I appreciate the UBI concept but his FP is very main stream imperialistic despite his "end forever wars" platform.

The FEC is no longer functioning, which makes the timing of this "experiment" highly suspect. Y*** proposed it months ago & was likely informed it was illegal.
-
He is doing it right now with 3 different families. Totally fine and legal.

I try to sell my vote every year for a direct cash payment. I offer it to politicians or just anyone who cares about their democracy. No one has ever offered anything for it. They just laugh. My vote is worth nothing. I have proof. It's the dirty little secret of "democracy."

I believe in 2012 Mitt Romney offered to cover one or two young people's college costs in an effort to improve his deservedly atrocious reputation. But I think Yang treats it as a social-economic experiment that will show the merit of his UBI policy proposal(ergo not a bribe)

I would rather the money be given to us rather than the government or corporations.

No, graft would be a politician accepting a bribe to award a lucrative contract to someone.
-
That would never happen.

politicians bribe voters every cycle. "vote for me and i'll expand program X." Yang's 60k is a drop in the bucket.

Here in Argentina they do it all the time It’s morally wrong but pretty efficient. And that’s how corrupt politics is around here When I hear some democrats candidates in the Usa speak and promise free stuff, rings close to home. It’s scary

Graft if Yang does it; if Joe does it, we call it "gaffed"

If he gets too close to winning the nomination from the DNC favored, I'm sure the FBI will investigate his graft, and it's clear link to Russia.
-
Until then, the DNC gets a cut of his donations. So, all good. The more the merrier.
