The lack of foreign policy emphasis in these debates reflects a misunderstanding of what the president actually does. Presidents have unilateral power to do basically whatever they want in the foreign policy domain. Congress conceded that power long ago. Yet, it's an afterthought

I wish Tulsi was there. I wish she had an opportunity talk about H.Res.411 ( https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-resolution/411?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22tulsi+gabbard%22%5D%7D&s=6&r=1 …) she introduced back in May. I don't think most people are aware that Congress has conceded it's authority on this issue.

Congress has long abdicated it's oversight and authority in matters of foreign affairs/warmaking. Makes things much easier for the careerists in Congress...which is a supermajority of its membership.

That is what I have always said. American Presidents have more power over the rest of the World then inside USA. Congress also conceded Immigration to the President and they need to take it back.

I've always thought pres elections should focus primarily on foreign policy. The reason they don't is bc the war party is always in control and estab. candidates would have to admit that forever war is the policy. That's why they hate @Tulsi, and @realDonaldTrump.

My complaint is not about what was missed but what was included - specifically that foul, vile bit of advertising filth featuring the face of @AOC burning over a field of skulls. Everything in media now seems a celebration of corporate paranoid schizophrenia.

Everyone has their complaints about what was missed. Yours is about foreign policy; someone else of some standing in this nation said otherwise -- tell me how he's wrong:https://twitter.com/RoKhanna/status/1172363014999281664 …

Why did we have an entire Democratic debate without a single question about creating good jobs and raising pay? In many parts of the country that are left out, it’s still the economy, stupid. As Democrats, we cannot forget that.

Every foreign policy question to every candidate got the same response - get our allies to help us. As if they have our interest at heart. How naive. As if we haven’t tried that for the past 30 years. With poor results.
