Bolton aside, Trump hasn't started any new wars (yet). He's come close, and he's escalated wars begun by his predecessors, but he hasn't started any new ones. That's a low bar, but still notable because the same cannot be said for most recent presidents

By this point in his presidency Obama had already started the Libya war and surged massively in Afghanistan, both of which were disasters. He later started the Syria regime change op, the Yemen catastrophe, and Iraq War 3.0 (which, by the way, is still illegal)

None of this excuses other aspects of Trump's foreign policy which have been bad (going to the brink of war with Iran this summer was absurd) but it's still a historically notable point of reference

I can’t believe I’ve seen liberals siding with John Bolton because they hate trump so much- they’re actually siding with people who started these wars and just taking the opposite position of the administration regardless of if they support the policies or not

No, it's true. Any rehabilitation of George W. Bush because "he isn't Trump" is akin to pissing on the graves of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis.

And if Hillary Clinton were elected president, she would BE ‘Bolton’ in the scenario… We would be lighting the world on fire right now… At least somehow Trump has managed to pull back to some extent… Hillary literally campaigned on more aggression

Democrats could give him another gift by selecting pro war Warren or Biden. I decent anti war replacement for Bolton should worry the third way democrats.

What foreign policy topics do you have issues with?

I could be totally wrong but the move of the us embassy to Jerusalem, biilion dollar arm sales to Saudi Arabia tying into the nightmare going on in Yemen. The disruption in world trade order from an aggressive posture. Meddling in Venezuela destabilizing the region somewhat hmmm

Pundits consistently glaze over the fact that Trump is the first US President to enter North Korea. Regardless of the genuine policy specifics, the gesture is unquestionably historic, yet barely regarded as significant among the war thirsty press.

Could you imagine if that worked out.... it still could with JB out .. let’s see

Has it been though? I think his staff picks have been a mess but you do emphasize how we haven’t gotten pulled into another conflict. His trade/economics thing maybe... I’m 50/50

I imagine it can’t be easy going up against the war machine. Anyone who thinks that you can go in and just end all these interventions will have the media attacking 24/7, oh wait. Trump is doing a pretty good job taking them on.
