I don't particularly like Rubin -- find his shtick extremely tedious at this point -- but to immediately play the "guilt by association" game where it's denounced as inherently evil to even appear on his show is ridiculous and destructive

People such as Rubin who create an entire identity around how "I didn't leave [insert ideology], [insert ideology] left me" are usually extremely shallow despite the veneer of deep intellectual curiosity. This is a cross-ideological phenomenon: see also, Never Trumpers

But despite that tedium, they should still be engaged with constructively when possible. The trend toward writing people off (and their audiences as well) is incredibly insidious

That's true but I do have to concede that she was a bit too happy with the framing that the left and right are crazy. Rubin even said that progressives were a problem and zero push back from Tulsi. Maybe it was good strategy?

If you don't think there are big problems with the current iteration of left/liberalism in the Trump era, I don't know where you've been

People say she's a "Trojan Horse." They're right, but in this sense: she presents progressive ideas in a way that conservatives / right-wingers can accept. She creates unity where there was none, before. There is no other candidate who does this as well as her.
-
And she literally stands up against political correctness. The modern day DNC and media just cannot have that.

Just shows she is fearless, and the rest are cowards, stooges of the corporate elite despite claiming to be something else.
-
Fearless by not challenging Rubin on unsubstantiated claims like "Dems all want open borders" and "Dems hate liberty and the flag"?

It's a ridiculous thought process! Why wouldn't any Democrats take the opportunity to speak to an audience they rarely get to talk to. Preaching to the choir really doesn't accomplish much
-
It is the tribes' way of keeping things predictable and people manageable. If Tulsi or Bernie get the nomination, watch the No Labels crowd declare their bipartisan ticket as the sensible center on Fox and MSNBC.

This was a good interview. Lots of information on her demeanor and thinking. Each of the candidates should do such a longer form sit down interview like this. MSM debates are useless.

Hate on Rubin all you want, but his interviews are great
-
He doesn’t add much to them, but he does have interesting people on to talk about really diverse and interesting topics.

The leftwing media sure won't give her any airtime, will they?

People should only talk to people who share the same politics. That way, everyone can pretend that everyone has the same politics. Everyone’s happy!

"Rubin just talks to cons!" He talks to a popular progressive, instead of giving him credit for that now, "Tulsi is RW!" The leaps of logic people do to hate on people they don't like is amazing
