Reminder: if the DNC simply accepted polls conducted by the two largest newspapers in two critical early primary states (NH and SC) -- Tulsi would have qualified for the next debate. Their "rules" make no sense and that's why people are rightly cynical about this absurd exclusion

These "rules" were devised by party bosses with no transparency. This isn't some Constitutional mandate like the Electoral College, it's a set of arbitrary dictates constructed by DNC officials who above all are protecting their own interests (and those of their "media partners")pic.twitter.com/rOnf12KxYu

Bernie wasn't polling at less than 2% in ANY polls during the early debates

He’s also the VT senator. New Hampshirites are very familiar with him. That’s a reason.

I was under the impression that the DNC polls, debates, etc. were just to satisfy the public. The DNC chooses who the nominee is (see HRC). Everything else is just "show" to placate their minions. And why fund-raise in Mexico?

Looks like the Tulsi love affair is over. I really thought you had a chance Mike. Maybe next time.

(It was because he was from a neighboring state, and because their electorate is one of the whitest in the nation.)

Cool story. It’s crunch time and it’s time for Tulsi and her following to get behind Bernie and get this done. Too much at stake.

All of the candidates were free to be, speak, fundraiser etc. wherever they wanted and whenever they wanted. As a result of that total freedom: Some made the cut. Some didn’t.

Bad example. Bernie is a Vermont senator so of course he surges in NH.

Bernie gained traction because the DNC ran a ton of online ads for him in fall 2015 so it wouldn't look like a coronation.

Yes, Bernie gained traction because lily-white NH was early on. This year CA is on Super Tuesday so I doubt he'll do as well.

The old system also placed outsized importance on NH and Iowa, two of the whitest states in the USA.
