Reminder: if the DNC simply accepted polls conducted by the two largest newspapers in two critical early primary states (NH and SC) -- Tulsi would have qualified for the next debate. Their "rules" make no sense and that's why people are rightly cynical about this absurd exclusion

Bernie gained traction in 2016 in large part because he surged early on in New Hampshire, despite trailing substantially in the national polls. That's because NH voters were the ones actually hearing from him. So unless you can defend them on the substance, STFU about "the rules"

These "rules" were devised by party bosses with no transparency. This isn't some Constitutional mandate like the Electoral College, it's a set of arbitrary dictates constructed by DNC officials who above all are protecting their own interests (and those of their "media partners")pic.twitter.com/rOnf12KxYu

Tulsi's not gonna be the nominee, dude
-
the point isnt whether shes going to be the nominee. It's whether the dnc is pushing candidates out 15 months in advance of the general in order to protect their own now and in the future. A candidates exposure now, influences their popularity/name recognition for future races.

It’s more than that, Michael. The rules were revised. Original 3rd-debate rule was 2%+ in two polls since Jan. (Tulsi qualified). To “thin the field” they revised to only approved polls after 3rd debate, then arbitrarily approved only polls which carved her off the stage.

There are 10 candidates from a wide variety of backgrounds that have all succeeded in accomplishing the goals set out by the rules.. ever stop and think maybe people just don’t like Gabbard?

DNC can write the rules and change them at will.

Complaints about this should’ve been made BEFORE the first debate when the rules were announced. The candidates who made the stage obviously met/surpassed those “rules,” preposterous as they may be. Lesser-known candidates than Tulsi made the stage with these rules.

Explicated! I should start a drinking game and take a shot every time Tracey uses a “big word”.

Also they explicitly state that they have the right to change the rules when they see fit.

DNC didn’t allow Tulsi because they fear she’ll attack Elizabeth Warren. They can’t afford to lose Warren like Harris. If Biden is out, warren is the only hope for Neo-liberals

Every candidate is playing by the exact same rules. Correct?

For someone who hates people who "scream about rules," this guy sure likes screaming about rules.

Yeah he seems to be the only one here who is screaming

This is unfair to the DNC, Mike. They have been very clear about the rules: Don't humiliate our pre-approved candidates.

A more sinister explanation would be that top tier candidates were tipped off about which polls will count and therefore didn’t spend time in particular states like NH or Iowa. They concentrated instead on national attention
