Yes, this thread you've authored here is the agenda I'm talking about. I'm sure you're well-intentioned. But you're cherry-picking incidents and railing against a sport you don't fully understand. Road to hell is paved with good intentions.https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1165759307511750656 …

Brett Favre and his kids have the luxury to say that. He has positioned himself with the very sport he is now against. Someone who isn’t book smart, but talented enough to play a game will/ cannot afford to look at it like Brett can, not when the difference is $20.00/hr lifetime.

Some people will never be a financial genius or a entrepreneur but some people can catch and throw a damn football & the market currently demands a lot for that, those people should not be denied that opportunity because you are uncomfortable with it. Especially when they sign up

Favre played 20 years in the NFL. Comparing what he did to the average HS football player is like saying I shouldn't drive to work because driving killed Dale Earnhardt.

Youre making everyone else's point for them. Favre made a choice. Everyone else should have that choice, and the knowledge is out there abt the risks, to make a more informed one today for their kids. You don't get to decide.

Also dont invoke Tyler Hilinski as a part of your argument. His own brother still plays D1 ball at S Carolina, with the full support of their parents.

No player retires because of injuries its because they have an secret agenda to undermine football. Same with college stars who skip bowl games, not because of a potential injury but because they wish for the ultimate downfall of the sport.
-
The coaches are in on it too. Why don’t starters play the entire preseason? Potential injury? No, they want to destroy football.

you can find examples of players who said they’d die on the field because they love the game so much. i don’t think anyone denies football is a violent sport but football is the most popular sport by a mile here in America.

I imagine if you asked Favre if he regrets his NFL career it would be a no. He’s positioned his future generations for success. He couldn’t have done that without football.
