I don't see how you could be closely following those two and think they would ever run on the same ticket.

I kinda think that was the point he was making... a lot of people aren’t following closely... a lot of times they’re not even aware of a candidate’s policies or stance on major issues... they’re voting for someone because they like the way they look or they like their identity.

I wish the news media focused on stories like this rather than the tired old dichotomy of us and them.

Most of my friends have FB accounts for friends and relatives, shun Twitter and don't give a damn about politics until the Presidential candidates debate. And that's here in the NYC tri-state area. I don't know if it's disconnected or they just don't give a damn.

Disconnected is right. Gabbard and... Harris? What’s his second-choice ticket, Sanders and Delaney?

People think shit is really heating up in politics these days and people like Tim Pool think there's going to be a civil war. It really needs to be put in perspective though. Your average Joe on the street isn't nearly as emotionally invested in politics as people on Twitter

I'll also add this sort of partisanship has been a thing in the past. The 1968 election season was pretty bad. Probably worse than it is currently. Hyper partisanship is pretty cyclical and as realignments happen to further reflect the changing voter base it eases out.

A reminder, you shouldn't use an "anecdote" to disprove a general conclusion. A contradiction in logic.

Those 'in the weeds' with current affairs make the mistake of thinking everyone else knows what they know but people just don't have the time so they make their decisions on ephemera; on specious grounds. See Crooked Hillary seen as a slam-dunk by experts and toxic by the public.

Actually the Venn diagram of
@realDonaldTrump and Tulsi OR Bernie shows a fair amount of overlap (even with Hillary, Schumer&probably Pelosi before the latter three all developed full-blown TDS).Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
