Tulsi's two-week National Guard mission in Indonesia starts today. Deadline for qualifying polls to get into the next debate is August 28. You'd think being the most-Googled candidate twice in a row would be seen as a "qualifying" metric, but not according to the DNC

I don't think polling itself is problematic as a metric if used correctly, though I agree that it's not good to place such importance on 2% compared to 1% (sometimes even 1.6% vs 1.4%). That said I think there's still too much inherent risk with online metrics.

What's the "risk," though? That a candidate in whom there is substantial interest will appear on a debate stage? I don't see that as much of a "risk."
