I live in Iowa. So are you telling me if I show up he'll give me one thousand dollars? All in if true. Can I bring my wife, son, and grandkids?
-
Yes, that is precisely what he's telling you. $1000/mo to every citizen starting at age 18, guaranteed, no questions asked, for the rest of your life. Speaking from the experience of my past homelessness, it would have changed everything for me.https://www.yang2020.com/what-is-freedom-dividend-faq/ …

If that $1,000/month actually materialized, then social programs would disappear. Follow that with a new administration, and the $1,000/month would disappear, and we'd been left with no social net.
-
They wouldn't totally disappear. If a social program provides a person with more than 1k, then the would keep it. It would probably make many of them less needed, however and maybe turn obsolete?

I'm
#TeamTulsi and will fight with everything I have to help her win, but if Yang wins and he wants to give me a thousand dollars a month, my life would be drastically improved beyond measure. -

It's the largest net transfer of money to the bottom 90% of Americans proposed in history, eliminating all destitute poverty and establishing subsistence income as a guaranteed right for every citizen. That is revolutionary.https://medium.com/basic-income/there-is-no-policy-proposal-more-progressive-than-andrew-yangs-freedom-dividend-72d3850a6245 …

Why wouldn't prices be raised to match the new effective demand UBI raises thus resulting in essentially no change in the purchasing power of the poor?

Why the quotes?

It’s the most obviously revolutionary policy on the board.

I would have said this: “His revolution entails taking over $1000 for everyone in order to give everyone $1000.”
-
That would be funny if he hasn’t explained a million times how he’s going to pay for it. And regular people will not be taxed at all
