State authorities will always use "terrorist attacks" to justify the expansion of their police and surveillance powers, which affect the entire populace -- not just "terrorists." It's incredible that so many in the media/political realms still fail to acknowledge this

Cuz that doesn't involve toppling dictators and creating vacuum in which radical militias and warlords can thrive. LMAO imagine thinking those things are the same.

One difference between the two: Muslim extremism can be minimized by not imitating Europe’s mass migration of people from countries rife with it. But we have no choice but to deal with the problems of our own native population, and the already existing presence of numberless guns

Mass migration is kind of the issue here, too. Maybe our elites should stop doing it against the will of their citizens.

Baghdad had a secure Green Zone for the American overlords. Guys like Michael McFaul can enthusiastically call for a new War on Terror at home because he knows his Stanford campus will be safe inside a Green Zone too. His class will hop from one Green Zone to another like frogs.

Oh, I'm sure someone has figure out there is profit to be made from it. Power, money, power, money, power, money, power, money. Has any war in the last 100 years been fought for any other reason?

How about the equally ineffective War on Poverty and “not so” Great Society. Trillions expended/wasted as we seem to be back sliding into ever worsening inner city conditions.
