Would it be easier to carry out a mass shooting, or harder, if the CT law was implemented federally tomorrow? It would obviously be harder. I'm not necessarily advocating that approach, just saying that policy adjustments could clearly diminish the likelihood of these events

On June 29, I saw a “mass shooting” 30 yards in front of me in Hartford. There was gathering of people outside and a guy walked up and pulled out a pistol and shot around 10-12 shots into the crowd. 4 people hit & no one died. But it didn’t even make local news cuz it’s the hood.
-
A shooting has to have a specific number of casualties or injuries before it's considered a "mass shooting". The fact that no one died and only had 4 injuries means it probably either didnt make the cut or was barely over

If the law prevents them from acquiring their desired weapon to carry out a vile act, it doesn't matter whether they individually "care"

Wait until Tracey finds out they have semi automatic pistols and those are used in the majority of mass shootings.

One may defend vs a robber or rapist w/a small arm.But 2A is also about averting a tyranny(a very real threat now too)by having a general populace sufficiently armed to make establishing it too daunting,&that means access to better arms.pic.twitter.com/FPAz7CKcf5

Semiautomatic rifles aren't banned in CT (yet). They implemented some additional registration procedures for certain firearms. It's no harder or easier to carry out a shooting in CT now than before.
-
... California has had much tougher restrictions on "assault rifles" for far longer, and they've STILL been used in mass shootings there. These restrictions don't work. The only restriction that could conceivably work is a total confiscation. If that's what you want, say so.

Semi auto rifles are legal in CT. These 3 are all Ruger Mini-14s. The bottom two are legal in CT. The top one is not b/c of the pistol grip and flash hider. CT banned cosmetics on s-a rifles along with scary makes and models, like the AR-15, that operate no differently than thesepic.twitter.com/AZPGkD4bSN

It may be harder to buy a semi-automatic weapon in CT but it’s easy to buy one in NH and easy to drive to CT from NH without someone searching your car. The murder rate in CT may have trended down slightly depending on where you start measuring.pic.twitter.com/XB9fhKBDDQ

Those numbers are too consistent to trend anything but consistency.

Average US Gun Deaths per Year Total 36,383 We've been at war for nearly twenty years and spent > $3Trillion because of an attack that killed < 3000 Americans. Why are Corporations and Industries allowed to kill us to make WallSt profits and our government aides and abets them?
-
There are 38,000+ motor vehicle deaths per year in the US, somehow we're supposed to accept that as normal to protect corporate profits, just like the gun deaths

Re: 2, California is proof otherwise. The real problem is we keep pretending if we removed the objects the maniacs wouldn't kill. With a little thought and effort mass casualties are easy. With patience and a single shot rifle the DC snipers terrorized for months

it'd be harder (but far from impossible) to carry out a mass shooting if semiautomatic rifles were banned but we wouldn't really be much safer since rifles are used in a small fraction of total homicides

This is simply nonsense. You can walk into any crowded space with a regular shotgun and pistol, and do more damage than anyone is doing with just an assault weapon.
