Oops, Chris Smith is a Republican. Sorry about that. Article erroneously labels him a Democrat.

I had an insect borne illness. Great epidemiologist in the region diagnosed it correctly after 3 others failed. Hard to tell btwn Lyme and the 50 other insect borne diseases, but same antibiotic treated all. Never did know which it was and it didn't matter. Theory may be true.

If true, we need to put those involved in prison. They have wrecked the lives of so many Americans including children.

The bacterium was first described in 1981 which at least doesn't invalidate the premise based on ancient history, but hmm

Its not the disease itself, it's the delivery mechanism. That's what the lab was working on. 100% fact that US and USSR were both working on spreading diseases via mosquitos and fleas. Unintentional transfer of disease from an infected animal to ticks is not impossible.

Yes Lyme is found in mummies, but this was clearly a new strain, found first in Lyme CT and on Long Island in 1975, -which has become an epidemic and a scourge. Check out the books. This is a big iceberg.
