Jeet Heer added,
Just curious, did you ever promote any content produced by Topic, the now-shuttered First Look property? Doesn't appear so: https://twitter.com/search?q=from%3Aheerjeet%20topic.com&src=typed_query …
1) This is insanely petty even for you. 2) This search wouldn't capture any retweets or quote tweets 3) I remember Jeet sharing The Nib animation where a pundit who resembles you is melted in a nuclear explosion—that was produced by Topic.
I notice Jeet didn't answer my question of whether he ever promoted any content from Topic.
Jeet: I've long admired much of the journalism at First Look and admire their staff Michael: Did you, Jeet, at any time now or in the past, promote, produce, tweet, like or otherwise engage in the promotional sharing of topic dot com content SIR ANSWER THE QUESTION
Jeet: First Look made a terrible mistake by closing Topic, an outlet which I'm now suggesting made enormously important contributions to journalism Jeet: Never apparently shared, praised, or otherwise promoted any Topic content for the several years it was operational
Michael for the second time Jeet loved and shared the Topic video where the contrarian pundit named Michael is melted on screen by nukes. Spend the rest of your day scrolling back in his timeline for years to confirm this.
Oh, ok -- the NY Mag article and the open letter depicted The Nib and Topic as separate entities. Still curious to know if Jeet ever promoted Topic-produced content apart from its incredibly valuable Nib collaborations.
Michael Tracey: Give me one example! Bors: Here's an example. Michael Tracey: Give me two examples!
Great, the example of you sharing Topic content from the 2.5 years it was operational was one of its collaborative Nib cartoon videos, nothing traceable to the Topic URL or reflective of its allegedly groundbreaking journalistic endeavors. Thanks for clarifying
