A slew of new House Dems and presidential candidates backed impeachment proceedings after Mueller delivered a 9 minute statement in May. Next week he's testifying for 5 hours. You only need another 25 or so Dems for a majority in the caucus

The past few weeks have been a "down time" for impeachment-related activity but support has still been slowly growing. An essentially pointless resolution just got 95 votes. Mueller next week is the grand salami. Saddle up!

Nadler is known to privately support impeachment proceedings and signaled that publicly for the first time today by voting for this symbolic resolution. On the question of "Will they initiate the proceedings," today increased the odds of YES

Engel is one of the most powerful House Dems and if he's voting in favor of this throwaway resolution, that's also significanthttps://twitter.com/lindsemcpherson/status/1151606558444457985 …

And ultimately, its all just masturbation. Meaningless, especially in this new political world.

Also nobody actually reads his batshit articles of impeachment, which are usually focused on offensive things Trump said. The whole impeachment discussion includes basically no coherent legal arguments

Welp it’s confirmed. Trump wins in a landslide in 2020. Dems just keep shooting themselves in the foot.

Not procedurally stupid. His articles of impeachment were unrelated to Mueller.

Nadler was always pro-impeachment from the getgo. He was even caught saying this publicly on a train back in 2017. So him voting "Yea" is nothing significant. Dems still don't have the votes or the political fortitute to go through with a full impeachment, though!
