Large percentages of the US political class, media, think tank apparatus, and even the military agree that these deaths are utterly pointless, but they keep happening because the institutional inertia is too overwhelming to actually do anything about itpic.twitter.com/NxpzmTYvpn

Institutional inertia? Nah the US military is there to secure opium production + curb Iranian influence Afghanistan is valuable as hell from a geostrategic perspective.

In a Grand Chessboard-Great Game way, yes. But every Founder of the US who wrote on that subject thought it was a deadly and potentially suicidal 'game' to play. We're never at peace and totally underwater. Advantage: Founders

The tipping point will come when our numerous enemies band together to ceate an effective counter-force. Since we're incapable of change, the change will come from the outside.

The proposed new head of the Joint Chiefs Of Staff just told Congress that the US getting out of Afghanistan would be a mistake. Yes, these are the psychopaths in power within the system. The CIA has to have its opium dark money and the US has to have a base to attack/invade Iran

The gov can fix itself. It has to be allowed to do so. First step might be to make AIPAC register as a foreign agent. If winning an election means signing a loyalty pledge (to a foreign country) then the system is being or has been subverted.

If we are looking for Putin's agents (😂) in the US - everyone who is for staying in Afghanistan is one. Putin is more than happy US to drain itself there....

I just fucking love how people justify us being there because of the Taliban... Which WILL immediately regain conmplete control as soon as we leave... which we will have to eventually... so all of these US deaths in the meanwhile are for????? LA LA LA LA.... *fingers in ears*

The “neoliberal" Obama drew down troop levels in Afghanistan but according to Justice Dems, he’s responsible for Trump.

Globalism means we should continue to play colonial officer in foreign lands. Otherwise we give up 'leadership' and become isolationist/fascist.
