Michael Tracey Retweeted Zach Montellaro
YouGov polls do count, despite protestations in my mentions. According to the DNC, Steve Bullock has qualified for the next debate based on YouGov pollshttps://twitter.com/ZachMontellaro/status/1140983364788338689 …
Michael Tracey added,
You're off here. YouGov polls do not ALONE count for the debate. That particular YouGov poll counts because of CBS, which is a DNC-approved poll sponsor; The Economist is not. Gabbard needs 2 percent in 4 approved polls for September. She's at 0 currentlyhttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1dHSFg0jrAeIAqDlFZqAu-5N2x-wk8PT-6H4DbCendUM/edit?usp=sharing …
Thanks for the clarification. It seems wildly arbitrary to count YouGov polls as qualifying when they're sponsored by one news organization (CBS) but not another (The Economist) and the campaign could make a plausible argument to that effect.
I'm not making a value judgement! But anyway, here's the rules from the DNC for the September debate — basically need 2 percent in 4 "approved" polls, and you can't repeat an approved organization in the same geographical areahttps://democrats.org/press/third-debate/ …
I know you're not, I'm just laying out the logic that would make for a plausible argument that the YouGov/Economist polls should be counted as qualifying
My preference is she not get the donors she needs, and is eliminated that way.
