Lots of people saying "just release them" which might play well on Very Online Left Twitter but in order to sell a policy change as dramatic as that to the general public -- even the Dem primary electorate -- you're going to need more than buzzy sloganshttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1146491860967481345 …
I wasn't making any particular argument, notwithstanding your reflexive ascription of bad faith. I was observing that activist/media opinion on this topic has shifted rapidly in a short period of time, and the underlying principles from which they're operating should be elucidated

So, what's your operating principle? You clearly have strong views on this subject. I won't ascribe bad faith, I'll simply ask. Is your operating principle simply that the US should return to pre-1996 practices? Or do you have more fundamental objections?
Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

“activist” opinion on this hasn’t “shifted rapidly” over the last year, immigration activists have been calling for an end to these policies since before obama was in office. saying otherwise only proves that you’re wading into something you’ve made no effort to understand

I mean “activists” in the sense of Democratic Party-aligned activists, operatives, and journalists who’ve suddenly decided this issue is a moral crisis while having previously ignored it, but there you go again with the reflexive ascription of bad faith
