This individual seems to believe that everyone who voted for Trump, 63 million fellow citizens, is a Nazi. That's incredibly corrosive to social cohesion. And of course, the current rhetoric around "concentration camps" reinforces this incendiary beliefhttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1146995934150234112 …

The right engages in its own form of dehumanizing rhetoric -- usually scapegoating the powerless -- but the new "radical liberal" belief that half the country is Nazis has a major impact on national political narratives, given how influential people like TJ are in activism/media

How can you expect to have a functional society or political system when you cast millions and millions of fellow citizens as intrinsically evil in these kinds of rigid, absolutist terms? How do you persuade anyone of anything? The power analysis on display here is totally warped

This is up there with the lady who worked for the NYTimes blaming the Trump family for taking a pic on their boat and waaaay in the background, on another boat was a rebel flag and she was flipping out about it like they control a flag on another boat 300 yards away, etc.

It's gonna get worse. Dems are going wilder and crazier since nothing else has worked. As Rep Al Green said, "We need to impeach Trump so he doesn't get re-elected." All of this behavior makes sense when you understand what ppl do when they're backed into a corner politically.

I think it’s getting more difficult for liberals in general to win a debate of policy. Most “populist” really just want what democrats were promising 10 years ago. Now they’ve gone mad.

I agree with this analysis. It has concerned me from the moment Clinton used the word "deplorables" I knew we were heading down a dark road. Leadership matters. Right now the Dems are just as responsible for the disintegration of civil society as the Republicans.

They don't want functional, outside of these systems benefiting themselves so they get to sit big on top. Full spectrum dominance, both home and abroad. Of course it's going to be as corrosive as they are, nothing new there.

Independence Day hullabaloo aside, the US has always been part of the same empire Cristobal Colon sailed for, but one would think the behavior is just something new or that democrats themselves have stood firmly against rather than helping to run it.https://thebaffler.com/outbursts/border-profiteers-oconnor …
