This criticism makes no sense. Negotiating with a country *by necessity* means "normalizing" it. Dems have nothing constructive to say about Korea diplomacy so just resort to invoking the same old tired cliches and talking points ("THIS IS NOT NORMAL!")https://twitter.com/ChrisMurphyCT/status/1145445868495093761 …

Let’s be clear. Trump isn’t negotiating with North Korea. He is normalizing North Korea. That’s what’s happening here.

Dear Mr Trump, Don't "normalize" a country that has existed since 1948 and has full diplomatic relationships with well over half the world. Sincerely, "Resistance" Democrats.

Still trying to figure out how improving relations with NK is a bad thing. How is easing the threat of nuke attacks bad? How is the possibility of finally getting food and medicine to the people of NK a bad thing?

I'd really like to see an example of how the President is supposed to negotiate non-military deals with NK without photo ops and "normalizing". This is what diplomacy looks like. Whether it works is debatable.

According to the Dems then we shouldn't negotiate with 3/4 of the world. Strong men, Dictators,Human Rights violators are rampant. Bomb first, Talk later. Maybe Tim Ryan does have a chance after all.

Wish they were consistent with all the countries and respect international law. They only normalise relationships with countries who have a bargaining power ie NUClear bombe: This is when USA becomes rational.

NK isn't regarded as normal by anyone who actual thinks. But its nice DJT has the imagination to do something different to break a decades long deadlock. And NK is much less of an international chaos-monger than long term ally Saud.
