Was thinking much the same. Looked up top contributors to his last election: BAE Systems was #2, and Boeing, General Dynamics, and Northrop Grumman all made his Top 20. I don't agree with his foreign policy and other stuff but he sounds like a good guy who believes what he says. I can see how he'd connect to midwest Ohio voters, at least as a Representative.
