I just don't think there's much real talent available, to tell you the truth. Almost the entire foreign policy community is stuffed with the same people who have been wrong over and over. Jim Webb stands out as one of the rare exceptions though.

Soon. The enemy is well entrenched. I believe he does a lot of things on purpose that looks like mistakes to those on the outside. Life is easier when one acts like a fool - people are more likely to slip up and make mistakes

I saw he said in an interview outside the WH the other day that he keeps people on both sides in his Admin so he isn’t just influenced by one side. But that he ultimately makes the final calls.

Were he to fire anyone, for any reason, the media will scream: "The White House is in chaos due to the erratic & fickle nature of an unhinged President." Maybe Trump can use existing advisors to stay informed, even as their leanings differ.
