The basic logic of attacking Iran (from US standpoint) is that they are a nation that successfully opposed US imperialism (and still do). There's not much else to it & Iran is not a "minor" regional power. They're a major one. Which is why Israel/KSA always try to undermine them

There is something else, and that’s the Isreal allyship/lobby (“the enemy of my *friend* is also my enemy”). However, Iran carries the same baggage as the other major regional powers in the ME — it too is a destabilizing imperial force.

Let’s not combat one kind of propaganda with another. This is a fundamentalist theocracy, that has been funding sectarian violence, and has been pursuing both nuclear weapons and the ballistic missle tech to deliver them. To say we shouldn’t be a check on that is crazy.
-
If only there were some agreement that a bunch of countries signed to discourage Iran from getting nuclear weapons

We should not attack Iran, but we should also not allow them to screw with commerce routes and shoot down our drones. Those are not small things and they are a problem.
-
That poor drone. There is reporting that it was on its way to church when the Iranians shot it down.

I think the logic is that absent likely US intervention in general, the Saudis would try to get the bomb and the Israelis would use the bomb. possibly a worse situation that the status quo

It DOES pose an economical threat as a major hub in the New Silk Road project. Militarily, in Syria, SDF/YPG are facing major drawbacks, squeezed between an unreported Turkis-Iraqi-Iranian alliance. The US are losing ground and the hawkish strategy crumbles.

The basic tenant of attacking Iran is American primacy in the middle east and on oil trade. How can you counter that Primacy doctrine?

Yes and no. It a regional power. Maybe not the top but it can still do serious damage to a few countries in the middle East.

It’s not insanity if virtually everyone’s embracing the bullshit corporate media narrative that Iran is an existential threat.

That's only true as long as they don't develop nuclear weapons.

Iran is a proxy for China. Wouldn’t be surprised if they are supplying Iran with technical knowledge and missies to try and weaken America’s position in the world financially and politically
