The term "concentration camp" obviously evokes parallels to the Holocaust and if that's not what you're intending to do, simply pick another term. See? Easy

But if you want to "cancel" Bernie for declining to posit that 2019 America is meaningfully comparable to 1939 Germany, go ahead I guess

USA invented concentration camps.... see Native Indians. British 'improved' them during the Boer war... Germans through their hat into the ring. Along with Soviets.

Honestly I can find 100s of examples within the last ten years of “concentration camp” being used as an expression. But it’s getting late and I’m too lazy to google. It’s just an expression, and the usage fits the meaning. I’m sorry for all the people who lost their lives in WW2.

If you don’t refer to catastrophic mistakes, when u are on a path to repeat them, the you will probably repeat them

I'd be hard-pressed to call it inflammatory in view of the of the subject it refers to.

you have no idea what you're talking about, Michael

Extremely on brand for him.

Also, the genocide of native Americans(throughout the Americas) and African enslavement in the Americas can be categorized as being *more* catastrophic than the 1930s.

Sorrry to hear
@AOC is grating your mainstream sensibilities@mtracey! She gave@Liz_Cheney her logic for using the language she used and it was well supported logically and historically.@SenSanders may not agree and that is ok. Got his own opinion. Not sure what your point is.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

But if you're AOC, it's what you do. She's the hyperbole princess.

Don't trivialize what Trump's racist regime is doing to people. Some have actually died. 'Concentration camp" is apt.

Not 100% on board with this. Are you suggesting the Holocaust is somehow sacred or uniquely untouchable in certain contexts? I'm sure there have been plenty of catastrophic events in the past & present, many on the level of the Holocaust, so don't understand why be "offended"

Maybe you’d now give an example of someone using their own language as they see fit and without being told how to articulate themselves. You know, showing some of the respect you presumably require. No one owns language.

For someone who shouted "no collusion" (which isn't even an indictable, legal term to begin with) you sure are taking AOC's word choice very seriously.
