"Not playing 'Fortnite'—or even not being good at it—has become a new stigma for some children." Is this true? Are kids really being "stigmatized" for not playing Fortnite?https://www.wsj.com/articles/the-man-behind-fortnite-11560571201?mod=hp_lead_pos6 …

I've never played Fortnite. Thankfully have managed to evade any attendant stigma, however. I tend to be stigmatized for other reasons

Kids will always "stigmatise" other kids for not being in the in crowd.

My HS junior doesn’t play Fortnite, although one friend does, and there is zero stigma.

Fortnite was the worst thing happen to PC gaming in the last 10 years.

Those Epic guys got rich off Gears of War, but got insanely rich off Fortnite.

Kids are still kids, they tease each other. When I was 10 years old, kids would get teased for being bad at kickball or dodgeball. Nothing has changed but the MacGuffin.

I resisted buying video games for my three millennial children in THE 90'S. They were stigmatized WAY BACK THEN, so don't pin this social phenomenon on Fortnite.

Personal experience - yup, some truth to it. But is it something new? Schoolyards love their stigma.

More of a stigma for not playing well than not playing at all.

Gotta have forced Kiddie Prison, though. Otherwise, there would be no environment for stigmas and zeroes pressuring other zeroes to be zeroes. Parental zeroes need to have a legacy of zeroes, you know.

Yes. Some children are stigmatized by other kids at school for not playing it. I'm a dad, and I know.
