I've never played Fortnite. Thankfully have managed to evade any attendant stigma, however. I tend to be stigmatized for other reasons

My HS junior doesn’t play Fortnite, although one friend does, and there is zero stigma.

Kids are still kids, they tease each other. When I was 10 years old, kids would get teased for being bad at kickball or dodgeball. Nothing has changed but the MacGuffin.

I resisted buying video games for my three millennial children in THE 90'S. They were stigmatized WAY BACK THEN, so don't pin this social phenomenon on Fortnite.

Personal experience - yup, some truth to it. But is it something new? Schoolyards love their stigma.

More of a stigma for not playing well than not playing at all.

Gotta have forced Kiddie Prison, though. Otherwise, there would be no environment for stigmas and zeroes pressuring other zeroes to be zeroes. Parental zeroes need to have a legacy of zeroes, you know.

Yes. Some children are stigmatized by other kids at school for not playing it. I'm a dad, and I know.

I would be surprised if there wasn't. It's fairly normal behaviour for children.

Not true. Fortnite is a good game but nobody is “stigmatized” for not playing it or being good at it
