On one level I admire Bernie for sticking to his guns and delivering a forceful defense of “democratic socialism.” But whether it’s sound political strategy, not so sure. Lots of normie Dems will be voting in primaries/caucuses next year. They’re kind of more into Obama than Marx

A lot of people who would not ordinarily endorse "socialism" none the less see Bernie's refusal to back down on it as authenticity. I have seen several Republican friends on facebook admire his honesty and the fact that he actually believes in something.

Use “decentralized distributism” or “progressive federalism.” FDR won, in part, because he was a branding genius. You can’t win like FDR by just adding adjectives, such as “Green” or “For All,” to his creations. Transform the discourse like FDR with your own power of creativity. pic.twitter.com/o5RvH7ota9

Bernie has been referencing FDR's second bill of rights for years too, he used it in 2016, I actually think the only way progressives get elected is if enough register to make the current primary voter demo irrelevant

I feel when you say Marx here, you mean Stalin. Either way, I think we're at a point where Socialism is back. And Marx was, in his time, a "social democrat"

Another downturn & I’d doubt that statement would be correct. Especially if both parties elites & media treats them the same way as before.
