I think professional/creative class Dem-allied observers are "offended" on some level, but it's highly intertwined with fakery. They're performatively offended on behalf of people who aren't themselves offended. Trump supporters are not offended in the slightest, that's 100% fake

Perhaps coastal managerial class 20-and-30-somethings on Twitter don't realize that their parochial cultural sensibilities are not shared by the rest of the country. I wonder if that impedes them from properly comprehending the political landscape in the USA. Hmm, just a theory

People aren't offended but they do find it cringe-inducing in the way that hearing an older relative say something dumb is embarrassing. More of a "make it stop" thing.
-
Right, they're pretending to be offended because they don't like Biden for various extraneous reasons and therefore want to cast his grandpa jokes as somehow offensive, even though they are not actually offended.

It’s not offensive. It’s just weird. Who talks to 13-year-old strangers like that? It is not a normal way of interacting.
-
Yep, it’s weird, and he said he would stop with the weird stuff.pic.twitter.com/io0KzTIAPE

It's not offense, it's cringe. Pure unadulterated cringe.

I'm not offended but also like we asked him to stop because he's creepy af and he should really refrain from even the slightest hint at his creepy behavior and he can't even do that.
-
His commitment to talking this way is what really baffles and weirds me out.

He doesn’t know these people but he’s telling a 13 yr old girl’s brothers that she’s a soon-to-be sex object who can’t take care of herself and that it’s their job. COME. ON.
-
I'm glad my older brother protected me in a bad situation that was not of my making.

Glad you're not offended. As a female person who lives in the Midwest I'm pretty offended. Why the hell are her brothers supposed to keep guys away from their sister? Can she make her own choices?

It's offensive to tell boys they are the guardians of their sister's purity. It's 2019, not 1819.

I am not so much offended as much as creeped out by how he always seems to think "my what an attractive little girl" and then is unable to stop himself from commenting about it in front of everyone. It is just weird to ask a child her age then comment about her dating.

He has this very consistent pattern of treating girls that are too young, even prepubscent, inappropriately. Why would an old man be thinking about a 13 year old in a sexual context? They're too young for it. Technically what he said is kosher...but in light of everything else?

In the entire context surrounding Joe Biden...?

It’s almost like it’s women who have never received a compliment are the ones mad over this.
