Why do abortion opponents think they’re entitled to a special exemption in this regard? I morally object to drone strikes, aid to Israel, mass surveillance, drug prohibition, and numerous other government expenditures, yet my tax dollars fund these thingshttps://twitter.com/xan_desanctis/status/1137364404301959169 …

I know there are principled tax resisters who risk criminal penalties out of a sense of moral duty. But I don’t think most abortion opponents fall into that category. Rather, they demand a special exemption be carved out to suit their own particular moral objections

They don’t have a special privilege in this regard. They’re run over like everyone else

A weird phenomenon of American politics is that people who believe a million babies are being murdered in this country every year consistently vote for politicians whose top legislative priority is cutting taxes

I’m pro life, think you’re right & want to see Hyde appealed We’re already giving $ to PP so what good is Hyde doing? It is doing nothing to decrease the # of souls that are being exterminated. Right now, it’s simply allowing moderate pro lifers to shrug & ignore the issue

There are innumerable legal activities that might be public funded, and most aren't. *Funding* is the special privilege.

State taxes v federal taxes. Common defense is mentioned in the federal constitution. Pro choice people should lobby their governor.

Which is the reason the Hyde amendment is in place. They're arguing about whether or not to *legislatively* remove it, thus funding abortions.

If the rules were followed, war should be done in defense of the whole country and its people. So you may disagree with drone strikes, but in general if the intel agencies weren't lying all the time, the expenditures would be a protection to all.

But now wars are all about foreign interests and natural resources

Maybe war resistors should also demand to not not pay taxes to finance an immoral industry based on killing.
