Substitute the concept of 'journalist' for 'propagandist' and their enthusiasm for censorship makes a lot more sense.

As you know, few of today’s “elite” journalists do journalism. I think it’s even worse than activism. It’s entertainment. The 1976 film “Network” eerily foretold the story of this transformation. Highly recommend if you’re not familiar with it.

Ah yes the obscure film Network

The majority of “journalists” today are merely activists who work in media to advance their agenda, they have zero interest in promoting truth or holding bureaucrats to account and informing the Public what their representatives are doing only happens if they disagree with them

That may be a little idealistic. Their opposition extended only to the gates they manned. Now the gates have been thrown open and they want them closed again.

It’s not hard to understand. In each case, the MSM is going against its competition. It’s a combination in restraint of trade. And they perceive these targets as political enemies as well

Michael, they falsely claim the mantle of ‘journalists’ but they are in reality partisan/cult member propagandists.

I don't agree with YT in this, but do you think there is an important distinction to be made between governments and companies when it comes to censorship?

Part of the issue is the double standard displayed. We either have a libertarian free for all or we don’t. Look at examples like James Damore vs Joy Ann Reid.

That's because their historical opposition to censorship was never based on the principle that censorship is wrong. They were against censorship because, at the time, the censors were conservative. But now that the censors are liberal, censorship is just fine.

Just remember to make some curb your enthusiasm memes when journalists start getting arrested.

They’ve become a propaganda arm of the Deep State and, to that end, the *last* thing they’re going to do is defend Julian Assange.

I don't have any problems with Jones or Crowder. I've never engaged with either of them but I think they (and people who like them) have the same free speech rights everyone else does. If I owned a platform it would be a free speech platform.
