Adult journalists whining to YouTube and throwing a fit because the platform won't remove material that the journalists have subjectively deemed "harassing" is so infantile and feeble-minded, it's ridiculous

I find Steven Crowder obnoxious, unfunny, and politically appalling, but that doesn't mean I would therefore demand that his videos be removed from YouTube just because they offend my sensibilities. The principle of a free, open internet overrides my personal sensibilities

For the millionth time. Appealing to tech authorities to be arbiters of speech imbues them with massive power that they do not deserve to wield. Journalists' newfound embrace of this moralizing censoriousness is gross, and contrary to the fundamental tenets of the profession

If you have a large platform and constantly make provocative political statements as part of your job, you should expect to receive provocative, demeaning insults. It's inevitable. Citing these insults to demand that your detractors be expelled from online platforms is baby stuff

They are simply trying to shield themselves from criticism while at the same time trying to protect a dying industry. That's why the return of "learn to code" was such an affront. When they told the coal miners to "learn to code" they never assumed the tables would be turned.

The problem is that they have already taken on that role. If they were truly open platforms that would be one thing, but they have already "arbiters of speech"

it's corporate media and academics lobbying to become censors of social media, and for mass surveillance. The fuss over the Pelosi video is just the latest case where they attacked a private citizen, based on misdirection between an edited and a distorted video.

It's not just a power that the Silicon Valley elites don't deserve, it's one that they have proven to be irresponsible weilding.

Social Media monopolists have no right to create the new virtual "Public Square" and then censor Free Speech especially to advance their collaborators in the Democrat Party. #RICO the Social Media monopolists
