Adult journalists whining to YouTube and throwing a fit because the platform won't remove material that the journalists have subjectively deemed "harassing" is so infantile and feeble-minded, it's ridiculous

For the millionth time. Appealing to tech authorities to be arbiters of speech imbues them with massive power that they do not deserve to wield. Journalists' newfound embrace of this moralizing censoriousness is gross, and contrary to the fundamental tenets of the profession

If you have a large platform and constantly make provocative political statements as part of your job, you should expect to receive provocative, demeaning insults. It's inevitable. Citing these insults to demand that your detractors be expelled from online platforms is baby stuff

I agree with this 100%, and yet - Youtube does have a ToS, and if they're gonna enforce it they should enforce it equally and consistently. I've seen so many channels demonetized, shut down or deactivated for way less than what Crowder says, that's the annoying part.

They need to decide - either complete and absolute free speech for all, or consistent rules and guidelines that apply to EVERYONE, including channels owned by corporations and news channels.

This might be more compelling if it were, in fact, the justification that YouTube were claiming.

The videos aren't being removed. YouTube simply isn't paying him for them. In what world can you force a publisher to pay you for material they didn't contract from you?

They aren't limiting free speech - the videos are still there. Crowder is just going to have to make more money on t-shirts.

Their profits matter more to them than the ToS they print. They should ditch the terms. Then all would be clear to us.
