The "media ecosystem" has never been "pure." But its corruption has been intensified by media organs valorizing, amplifying, and employing huge numbers of intelligence officials since 2016 -- enabling them to shape public opinion on an unprecedented scalehttps://twitter.com/john_sipher/status/1135519625725169664 …

Jeez, I didn't realize the "media ecosystem" was so pure. Am I polluting it? Are journalists the only people who should express their views? I apologize if I've offended anyone for expressing my thoughts. https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1135286951844749313 …

In the age of Twitter/podcasts, these officials take the quasi-journalistic authority that has been ascribed to them by media outlets, and leverage it into large personal platforms -- enabling them to shape public opinion. Exactly what the CIA has been trying to do for decades

Pre-Trump, there would have been a lot more concern about the insidious implications of this trend. But many of these intelligence officials have an aggressively "anti-Trump" point of view, so the media doesn't just overlook the obvious corruption -- they actively facilitate it

So yeah, I object to the unprecedented co-optation of the American media ecosystem by security state officials, and will continue pointing out the danger of this, even when such officials like John Sipher tweet tendentious things about mehttps://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1135249782337921024 …

I’m pretty sure the CIA has always been doing this. I don’t think it’s anything new. The difference is now they don’t even bother trying to hide it.

In an era where intelligence issues are a prominent issue, it makes sense to listen to those with genuine expertise in the field, rather than a bunch of keyboard warriors. Oh and there’s a reason why they are anti-Trump - they know a walking NatSec problem when they see one.

They are NOT reporting on the intel divisions in America. Instead they are reporting FOR those intel divisions. Propaganda in support of the IC.
