If it's true that Mueller's intended outcome was always to provide Congress an impeachment referral, as his statement this week seemed to confirm, then it's possible he intentionally prolonged the investigation past the 2018 midterms: so as to bide time for a Dem-controlled House

I'm still very curious to know what exactly Mueller's intentions were when he took that May 16, 2017 meeting with Trump in the White House. He was appointed Special Counsel on May 17, 2017

Interestingly I remember reading that the day he handed in the report to Barr, it was the 46th anniversary of the Nixon tape where he tells Mitchell to stonewall it. Mueller is not as oblivious to politics as he pretends to be.

Comey/Mueller took for granted that a Democrat run house would pull the trigger on impeachment if Mueller gave them a subtle set up... Mueller's statement was made to be far less subtle because that dem lead house cant pull the votes together... The coup effectively ends

Frankly, if Barr hadn't replaced Sessions Mueller would still be at it.

The reason it ended is you can’t investigate nothing indefinitely

I think that deadline was called AG Barr. This smokescreen of an SC investigation to fuel the media’s smear of the POTUS probably would’ve gone on except a new sheriff arrived.
