    Michael Tracey Retweeted Britain Elects

If a general election actually panned out according to these polling figures, it could be the collapse of the centuries-old two-party system in the UK. Pretty incrediblehttps://twitter.com/britainelects/status/1134207549249654786 …

Rumours of the two-party system's death are greatly exaggerated. For one, FPTP wouldn't allow it. Two, this poll is off the back of a high-profile, single-issue protest vote - I highly doubt they would translate into a GE. Could be the return of lib-dems as king maker's though.

Well, thanks to first past the post, even with those figures it would still be two main parties that came 1st and 2nd in seats

I don't think it would pan out like that at all - worth keeping in mind the Liberal Democrats were leading the polls all throughout 2010, yet on election day they trailed in 3rd place and actually lost seats.

And the circumstances weren't too dissimilar from Brexit - hugely unpopular (New) Labour government, economy thrashed by the recession, Tories still widely distrusted post-Thatcher - voting patterns in EU elections v different to UK elections.

I urge you to look a bit more closely at the poll rather than just accepting it at face value. The option for Brexit Party was hidden in the "Others" option. #Fakepolling

WTF, 3 Tories no difference really! Bex Party (Farage) HardRight Fascist hedgefund/Maggie Conservative, LibDem, Austerity hedgefund Conservatism, Old Tories more same NeoCons. Greens 1/issue Party when Labour has Corbyn, who doesn’t sellout 💯 consistent, honest can bring unity.
