I'll say it again. Impeachment is a political proceeding. "Collusion" and "obstruction" are politically inseparable: they are both part of the same Russia/Mueller bundle. If you impeach on "obstruction," you are also inevitably impeaching on "collusion"https://twitter.com/mtracey/status/1133509494246391809 …

It’s fantasy to suggest that “collusion” and “obstruction” are ever going to be separable in the context of a turbo-charged impeachment proceeding. There’s no way around it: Dems are moving to impeach Trump on the basis of a debunked conspiracy theory https://www.nydailynews.com/opinion/ny-oped-the-runaway-impeachment-train-20190528-jfedgjwbjnegrjxxehrzwx53fa-story.html …

If charging isn’t an option and he knew that from the getgo, why did we go through this farce? It was an impeachment search all along.

And thanks to Mueller and the likes of justin anash, it is clear that if they impeach they will drive a clear path to Trump's re-election in 2020

The whole thing is a waste of time regardless- Whether or not the Dems have the votes in the house is debatable, and we know the Senate won't budge, so impeachment is a non-starter. Pelosi knows this, which is why she's sitting things out.

I thought he was a journalist, but he's not behaving like one either. A journalist is supposed to tell the truth, but he's telling (and falling for) lies all the time.

LOL. This is one of those famous statements that deserves a trademarked Michael Tracey "I didn't got to (insert major/degree here) school, but..." qualifier.

this absolutely batshit insane reasoning that no matter how clearly and explicitly and repeatedly trump obstructed justice, impeaching him for having done so would somehow still count as impeaching him based on a "debunked conspiracy theory" lol like please god try harder michael

"collusion" is preferred legal out that Trump & his lawyers promote nonstop. Trump "no collusion" repeated multiple times is not by accident. The real term is "conspiracy". Michael Tracey is either aware of this fact proving he is all in the Trump camp or incredibly uninformed.

No. This is not an accurate statement of the law. You do not need to prove liability for underlying crime to convict for obstruction (contrary to what the AG has suggested).

This is absolutely and totally false. False to the point where spreading this idea is to spread misinformation. Your characterization is simply now how obstruction of justice works.
