Assange is not a journalist, snotty journalists proclaim, even though Assange has published more true information in the public interest than they ever will in their entire lifetimes, combined. Obnoxious morons

If Assange had merely been publishing, as @nytimes & @washingtonpost did w/Pentagon Papers, you’d have an argument. But Assange crossed a bright line by inducing Manning’s crimes & abetting Russian active measures. The 1st Amndt also affords limited protection to aliens abroad.

Snooty journalists live in the DC bubble where militarism is normal and encouraged. An anti-war journalist is something to be despised.

Amazing how many Americans are willing to defend state power in the interest of the political party they support, which will gladly throw them under the bus when it matters. He leaked classified material? But why were warcrimes concealed and classified?

A journalist is anyone who reports the news. One doesn't have to have attended a prestigious school or have the "approved" credentials. If he/she wants to inform the public and their news is reliable, that's good enough for me.

Well, guess that's exactly the problem. Those snotty journalists can never publish the truthful information for the benefit of the public. That takes guts. They've already been bought and paid to publish the false narratives for the benefit of their small benefactors.

The job of a journalist is to inform the people. When a government acts against that simple truth, the country is in deep trouble.

Also a pint worth noting that it was a Guardian journalist that published the wikileaks file passwords in a book, this led to the unredacted versions becoming available.
