Democratic candidates are in a bind with respect to Biden because they can’t attack his most valuable political asset, the fact that he was Obama’s VP for 8 years, without also by extension attacking Obama, which risks alienating large numbers of Dem voters who still love Obama

But, Biden does have a long record completely independent of his VPship. A lot of territory to mine. Failure of any candidate to draw contrasts with Biden indicates (in my view) agreement with him on whatever issue is at hand.

I think it might be a little closer to the truth, than democrats are comfortable with admitting... We know, he is tied to the establishment, and to the same people who have been instructed “not to let progressives (especially Bernie Sanders) take the party”...pic.twitter.com/pR0PqG4jeN

It's not a "bind" at all. The Biden nostalgia campaign is fine with most Dems, because they've convinced each other that it will actually work.

It's pretty easy to see Dems critical of Joe Biden, telling other Dems what they like about other candidates. Voting for who they want. And not going there at all. Not reason to. There's lots of great ppl/ talent/ideas running.

For instance. I just heard interviews with @AndrewYang @BetoORourke @SenatorBennet they are all great! Have lots of substantive ideas for policy that will *help* ppl. and lot of passion and energy. We don't have to stick with Biden.

Perhaps the most delicious aspect of Biden’s run for the nomination. His “fondness” for Scranton, PA is as authentic as Hillary’s.

But Michael his failing will be his health. He looks very waxy, and looks like he gets confused. Age? Probably. If he wins the nomination, and I doubt he will based on the above, he will need a younger running mate that people also want to be president.
