TYT + Cenk are just totally and embarrassingly wrong about this. Their original segment falsely claimed that a CNN poll showing Biden up was "biased" because it oversampled "septuagenarians." Trying to "unskew polls" invariably makes you look really stupidhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bppXajlK20 …

Many other polls with varied methodologies have replicated the finding of the CNN poll that TYT claimed was somehow maliciously twisted to disfavor Bernie. It's ridiculous, and self-defeating because YOU are actually the one giving viewers a "skewed" picture of the race.

This doesn't mean that
@NateSilver538 is above criticism. Some of his predictions and pundit-style analysis has been really dumb, and I've criticized it. But on these pure methodological questions, he's generally correct. And I say this as someone who has been trolled by Nate!Show this thread -
CNN, the same entity they're now claiming is putting out polls to undermine Bernie, accurately predicted Bernie's margin of victory in the 2016 New Hampshire Democratic Primary. Final result: Sanders 60% Clinton 38%pic.twitter.com/bYXuPIAIUK

In your view, has there ever been a time where the polls were skewed against Sanders or skewed reporting on polls against Sanders?

CNN poll accurately predicted Sanders' margin in the 2016 NH primary. If anything, it undersold Hillary. Final result: Sanders 60% Hillary 38%pic.twitter.com/Kt5zgQ1GTQ

Out of curiosity, have you noticed that all those all those "polls" you are pushing as good give almost identical results for the "gap" between Biden and Sanders- but not for the other candidates. Isn't that peculiar..

1/2 As a scientist who uses statistical analyses often, I hear you. However, Silver is subjectively invested in desired outcomes and appears to be looking to justify his point of view with data/results. Thus, his assessment of methods and results interpretation can’t be trusted.

2/2 He is not scientific in how he interprets and presents results and data. He is certainly not functioning as an independent and objective observer, which is required for someone claiming to be statistician/scientist. The scrutiny is warranted, albeit not always accurate.
