More people say they’re “extremely interested” in the 2020 election TODAY than at the peak of the 2016 general election. That’s crazy levels of hyper-politicization, which has been a broad feature of the Trump Erapic.twitter.com/4MNRtY4HF1

if SCOTUS overturn Roe next spring imagine how women will turn out '18 mid-terms already saw mass anti-Trumpism Dems definitely (rig the primary and) take the senate Later, they'll be like: "see, running against the greater evil drives turnout, so stand for nothing"

probably can't happen that quickly, but just the threat in these states will drive women to the polls and to run for office in 2020, and even more so once the conservatives achieve their goal - like a dog finally catching the tire

I don't understand the poll, they were asking about the 2020 election as far back as 2015, or is it just interest in the NEXT election at that time and the title is misleading?

Many Dems were lulled into complacency in 2016. Not now.

If there is one thing both sides during the Trump era can agree on is he brought politics to the mainstream. Both parties now have more people actively engaged. That is excellent for democracy.

Interest in 2015 was low b/c Clinton's election was deemed a foregone conclusion. Interest today isn't "high" due to hype, it was artificially depressed in 2015.

Not just that: both campaigns were widely disliked, so many voters abstained.

What a surprise that having a president whose entire strategy has been to fan the flames of culture wars and pit one group of Americans against another in the most divisive and incendiary way possible has led to an era of hyper-politicization.
