Another poll shows Biden with a huge lead, consistent with other polls. (Fox News doesn't conduct the poll, so don't try dismissing it on that ground). The obsession on the part of some Bernie supporters with "unskewing" polls is foolish and self-defeating https://www.foxnews.com/politics/fox-news-poll-5-16 …pic.twitter.com/6pCow05Lvb

Here's another poll using different methodology (Morning Consult does online polling with a much larger sample size) and it shows a similar result. Actually Biden has an even bigger lead. So enough stupid poll trutherism, please. Morning Consult got the popular vote right in 2016pic.twitter.com/d1NUYJeB4W

Yes it's early but lots of indicators suggest people are paying close attention to the race, even at this phase. Can't underestimate the crazy level of electorate-wide politicization that has occurred under Trump. So, early polling may be more predictive than in previous cyclespic.twitter.com/cXrBL9bdYh

It's really irritating and even pathetic that people on the internet can't distinguish between 1) Impartially analyzing Biden's obvious strengths as a candidate seeking the Democratic presidential nomination and 2) Supporting Biden on the merits, which I obviously do not

Why should we believe a poll conducted before De Blasio entered the race?

The thing that really upsets me is that Biden gets to slither into place with the help of the TV tube. He should be way below Bernie according to How sophisticated Bernie’s campaign is. Come on Bernie get on the attack

I agree with your sentiment but have to add: polls are only one metric. We have to look at the whole picture and take into account things like donors and donations, registered volunteers, first time voters, etc.

There is no reason not to review these polls ,and there are also many reasons not believe it as truth. Polls are polls.. use it to plan for a win. No one on #Bernie2020 camp thought it would be a cake walk. He is challenging the establishment and they are fighting back. #NotMeUs

Nothing to worry about. Biden isn't a viable candidate. The real question is how to woo his supporters when they leave him. Remember how good Kerry was at picking up low-information Lieberman-leaners in 2004? Kerry gave us four more years of Dubya with that swipe.

When Biden first declared he was 3.5 times ahead of Bernie. Now he is just less than 2 times more. And he has barely opened his gaffe mouth yet. Unless u count the speech slurring or Cheney/Ryan loving moments which of course got absolutely no MSM coverage.

This is bleak. Does It ever make sense to form a 3rd party or is the US forever stuck with the existing 2?

Who only uses land lines? CNN had 2:1 cell phones, this Fox one was almost 4:1. Morning Consult is online. Etc... I haven’t seen a single poll online using landlines.

I believe the real #s are somewhere in between this poll and Emerson. So I’d estimate it is ~ Biden 33% Bernie 21%

Biden does not have more than a 10 point lead over Sanders. The biggest problem with the polls is that they are using 2016 data. Many of them have a very high undecided percentage. Many of them poll just Dems when most contests are open to all voters!

This poll gives Biden an 18% lead. A far cry from the 30% lead in some polls.

If the poll doesn’t identify the sampling by age group, it can’t be considered valid. CNN latest poll has no input from people under the age of 50 and shows Biden in front. Why did they exclude young people?

That CNN poll did include young voters but listed N/A for that group in much of the crosstabs because ‘n’ was <125 completes –a threshold for confident subgroup analysis. The reality is, young people aren’t reliable primary voters and pollsters don’t want to be guessing turnout
