Nate is mostly reliable when he’s talking about the pure mechanics of polling, models, and related methodological stuff. He gets dumb when he’s just opining pundit-style on random stuff

Objecting to how media frames or emphasizes polling is perfectly fair: i've done it many times, and will continue to do so. But making specious claims about the methodology because it doesn't produce the outcome you want is just stupid. Motivated reasoning in action

Many other progressive shows reported the EXACT same issue with the CNN poll.

Nate blew the entire 2016 election. Might not be true in this case but it's very easy to manipulate samples to get the polling result that is desired.

They oversampled over 50, just like Dems were oversampled in 16. I don't trust this dude, seems to be a pro-establishment slant to everything he does.

.The CNN poll was landlines only, mostly people over 50, likely dem voters. That is skewed.

They need to poll the population properly: age, race, income etc. Anyone not calling that out is blinding themselves to reality.
-
Or ( as it is difficult to get young people and minorities to respond) they need to break out the margin or error by group AND bring the weighting in to effect their overall margin or error, which Nate said they do not do. Also..SHARE THE ACTUAL NUMBERS IN YOUR CROSS TABS
@CNN !

I think that in Nate's podcast he himself down played the effect that weighting low numbers has on the margin of error. This isn't accounted for in the general margin of error and should be noted, otherwise the impression given is one of greater accuracy that is reality.

Well then it must be true. Let me try one: 'The moon is made of green cheese.' I have included the same number of facts as you. Therefore, it's true. So bring crackers.
