Tulsi's interview on Joe Rogan has over 1 million views in less than two days. People dismiss Rogan's political influence at their own peril. He's basically Johnny Carson on steroids for the YouTube era

And I should add, the YouTube view metric doesn't even include the number of podcast downloads, which (I think) far dwarfs the YouTube viewership

I don't remember Johnny Carson being the gateway to white nationalism.

Carson got 9 million viewers a night. Steroids are supposed to make you stronger. Not weaker. Maddow gets almost 3 million, and that doesn't even count the podcast version. In short, Rogan isn't even MSNBC on steroids.

About 7% of households watched Carson every night. I doubt 7% of households even know who joe rogan or tulsi Gabbard are.

Out of all the voices & ideas for him to amplify, that interview with Tulsi was one of the best for ppl to hear.

The comments in his podcasts are usually a horror show, but on this one they overwhelmingly positive. Not used to seeing that.

Considering like 70% of his audience are either too young to vote, overseas, or not going to vote in the Dem primary, he has little influence. If he had real influence, Tulsi and Yang would be polling much higher.

They dismiss his influence and yet cry when he gives people like Alex Jones a platform at the same time. It's just because they don't like that he's open to opposing opinions, something impossible in their eyes.

Tell you what, in no way shape or form do I support a single thing Alex Jones says. But god damn that episode was so funny. Alex is entertaining as hell as long as you take it as entertainment.

Huge fan of Rogan but he gets a bit softbally at times. Since he is pretty "center moderate" he isn't deeply versed in the arguments of the far-left or right enough to truly press where needed. A vital voice nevertheless.

The value of not pushing too hard, is that people will feel comfortable enough to say what they want to say. It's up to the viewer\voter to decide whether they agree or not.

For the youngs out there, Carson regularly topped 10 million viewers for a single episode. And he almost never got into politics. But other than that, the apples and oranges are almost exactly alike.
