Nigel Farage's current ascendancy as leader of the new Brexit Party seems to have some US parallels. After leaving UKIP, he hosted a talk radio show to maintain/cultivate his audience. He went around giving speeches, including in the US. And now he's getting lots of small donors

One of the Brexit Party candidates recruited by Farage, Claire Fox, is a former revolutionary communist! Fascinating demonstration of how Brexit has always had the potential to fundamentally re-order UK politics https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/apr/23/former-communist-claire-fox-standing-as-mep-for-farages-brexit-party …pic.twitter.com/TIRx0ziAVb

Farage is also still dealing with ridiculous accusations that Russia somehow funded or facilitated Brexit -- another nasty import from the US. And it's hilarious that the main reason he's had to denounce UKIP (his party of 25 years) is due to Carl Benjamin, aka Sargon of Akkadpic.twitter.com/fSr3p9cbGa

This isn’t exciting. This is exactly what people like ARR, Monbiot have pointed out all along . She’s exactly the hard Trotsky splinter group that turned into Koch-funded Spiked. This just shows entryism into the far right.pic.twitter.com/Egoxt33QD0

The “re-ordering” is disaster capitalists moving in on the regulatory vacuum, pollutocrats hoping UK will be an export-processing zone, exempt from laws, Rees-smog alter-trade deals incl adopting India-level emissions. A human waste pileup, no regs ready to go & mass distraction.

The one thing they can agree on is that the people of the UK should be able to govern themselves and make their own choices

Yes, a reordering. And behind the uniting wish for national sovereignty could be a common desire for individual freedoms...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c3JDVa3gXv8 …

Yes. There were always 'revolutionary communists' who saw the EU as a neoliberal project. As if the UK leaving the EU to become the (non-voting) 51st US state would not be a neoliberal project. Then there are xenophobes who hate foreigners who don't speak English. Horseshoe much.

Time for them to honor the will of the British public, and accept the “tyranny” of Democracy. Time to #Leave.
