Maybe he does implode, but sitting and waiting for a "gaffe" to destroy Biden is foolish. "Gaffes" are only harmful if they reveal something about a candidate that was previously concealed. See: Romney "47%" or Hillary "deplorables." Biden's persona already has "gaffes" baked in

It is fascinating to me that there seems to be a trend towards Presidential frontrunners reaching increasingly advanced ages. if we are to believe cognitive decline is universal, this would seem to imply that voters are ambivalent about senility affecting the highest office.

In general I agree. Physically this is evident for most beginning in the late 20s. reaction time slows. etc. And in many cases mental declines begin to ensue by the 60s or 70s, but there are striking exceptions to the rule.
