Joe Biden is a stronger candidate than many in the media initially wanted to acknowledge. The association with Obama is probably the single most valuable asset any candidate can have in a presidential primary race. He's not "Hillary 2.0" either. My item:https://spectator.us/joe-biden-2020-blow/ …

And another advantage I forgot to mention in the piece: Biden recently shut down his personal "foundation," which was nowhere near the scope of the Clinton Foundation -- which the Clintons refused to shut down in 2016, leading to (accurate) accusations of nepotism and corruption

It’s amazing to me how quick people are to scream that I’m somehow “shilling” for Biden, as if I suddenly decided that I love him and want him to be president. No, I’m just trying to describe the dynamics operative in a Democratic primary. Descriptive vs normative: look it up

Certainly though, he didn't profit from ALL of them.

He’s got a personality? I mean, it’s not impressive, but it exists.

Another more relevant difference is the difference the Democratic frontrunner cited between his '16 campaign and this one. He said, "We're going to win".

precisely. That's his message, and it's fitting too. Trump got elected partly on nostalgia (for the 50's pre-globalization economy) Biden embodies the nostalgia a multitude of Dems fave for a presidency that was "decent, honorable, professional" held by someone "qualified."

The nostalgia vote is locked up already. Maybe you've seen the red hats? Time to move forward. Trump has a 90+ approval rating among republicans, the surest way to lose is to run a republican-lite like Biden

If people were so enamoured of Obama, how could Trump have won? How could he have lost so many seats since 2008?

It's not ALL about the personal negatives of HRC. She wasn't running in 2010, 2012 or 2014.

oh FFS—"nostalgia" for bailing out banks that then foreclosed on the citizens and made them homeless, for raids on legal pot clinics, for "letting it play out" at
