Leon Panetta and CNN proclaim that Trump is acting like a "king." Interesting theory. I wonder why an absolute monarch would permit a sprawling multi-year criminal investigation into his business and family affairs, as well as his conduct of foreign policy https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/09/politics/donald-trump-constitution-jerry-nadler-democrats/index.html …pic.twitter.com/3IJ0L0L2rC

And the other thing I always do is replace trump with Obama and my feeling was that Obama had way more people willing to do his bidding and way more control over the countries affairs, as a king would.

Funny thing about that Michael; he tried to shut it down 10 times as noted in the #MuellerReport. Saved by cooler heads.

Our forefathers are probably turning in their grave because of the dystopian, democracy-free, surveillance state created by the Fascist lackeys of a for-profit, global, unaccountable national security state that robs their own children to sate their greed and blood-lust.

Plus watch half of his orders get overturned by courts and actually comply with those court orders. This whole line of attack is way off base and very insulting.

'Our forefathers must be turning in their graves'. Your forefathers were pretty keen on raping their slaves, if memory serves, in addition to other fun pursuits.

Great point Mike! A "King" would have never allowed an investigation into nothing to go on for two years! But if I am Trump...gloves are off...no more cooperation! Fight every subpoena in court...exert "executive privilege" every time...if you lose in court..plead the 5th!...

That's easy. He won because of apathy. If every person who could vote did, he would have lost. No one took him seriously. Over 100 million ppl stayed home. And will always stay there until Trump's policies affect their lives personally.

In the sense that he assumes the right to assassinate anyone, anytime, anywhere on the planet, with nothing more than his own authorization, like his previous two predecessor, that is accurate. But not for the reasons they make this proclamation, as you explained.

"Permit"? You have a novel concept on the power of one co-equal branch of government over another. Almost as if the Chief Executive were a king. 🤔
