Dems have lost all ability to discuss the harms posed by Trump (which obviously do exist) in any tenor other than National Emergency, the Government Is About To Collapse, We're In An Existential Crisis, and similar themes. It's psychologically corroding and *itself* very harmful

It's a media induced psychosis that stops the neurons from firing anything but fear. There's no room for critical thinking with a head full of fear. It works wonders as a smoke screen for an entirely corrupted system.

They've been using the same tactic to stir up religious extremists in Foreign Countries for decades. Why wouldn't it work on a 2 Party system? It does and has.

That’s b/c commentators like @tribelaw have led many to believe that a “national emergency” would result in 1) removing Trump from office, and 2) installing HRC.

The level of discourse must rise to “emergency” or “treason” or else the argument for dethroning Trump becomes unpersuasive.

I'm not on the same political page as Michael but I suspect we'd agree on some of Trump's foreign policy being harms, eg Yemen.

...we’re “going down the road of tyranny” and the “very fabric of our democracy is being threatened.” Rational assessments, to be sure.

Agreed. The Dr. Gabor Mate interview (w/@aaronjmate ) provides a psychological explanation that is both companies compelling and deeply concerning for our body politic.

In reality they don’t even know what the actual dangers are because they are just as pro war as the neocons.

Hate to say it but you are absolutely correct. Our government is no longer functional. It's consumed with conspiracy theories and investigations looking for crimes. No legislation No solutions.
