In a triumph for US political discourse, @benjaminwittes and I were able to convert our prior Twitter rancor into a productive conversation about the Mueller Report, collusion, the media, and where we differ on those subjects. It was pretty interesting!https://www.patreon.com/posts/26649926

In all seriousness, there have been vanishingly few good faith discussions between "Russia collusion skeptics," roughly speaking (like me) and "Russia collusion proponents," roughly speaking (like Wittes). So in that sense, doing this was really healthy and I appreciated it.

I'd also like to point out that despite our sizable differences, Wittes and I both agree that Mueller *did* in fact investigate collusion, which you can apprehend by reading Page 180 in Volume I of the Mueller Report. So, Twitter nitwits can put that in their pipe and smoke it

That page literally says the opposite: they “evaluated potentially criminal conduct that involved the collective action of multiple individuals not under the rubric of “collusion,” but through the lens of conspiracy law.”

The words you highlighted mean the opposite of what you think they mean. It’s him admitting it was in Rosenstein’s memo but is not an actionable legal offense that has elements to be met. Therefore they couldn’t go after a colloquial collusion offense and instead chose conspiracy

Gosh, if that's true then Benjamin Wittes, one of the most ardent promoters of Trump/Russia throughout, must also be totally wrong. Amazing.

It’s possible. Also possible you’re misrepresenting him or y’all were talking past each other since Mueller discusses events that would constitute colloquial collusion (e.g.- polling data to Kiliminik) while not satisfying conspiracy elements.
